Problem

Kaffa needed a brand identity that could balance cultural authenticity with contemporary appeal. While inspired by Ethiopian coffee heritage, the brand lacked a cohesive visual system capable of expressing warmth, ritual, and community engagement across packaging and campaign touchpoints.

Additionally, the concept of user submitted doodle art required a structured identity framework that could support variability without losing brand consistency.

Solution

We developed a warm, earthy visual identity centered around the emotional ritual of coffee in hand. A grounded color palette of mocha brown, creamy beige, and burnt sienna reinforces comfort and richness, while playful typography and illustrated elements introduce personality and approachability.

The campaign “Coffee in Hand. Always.” invited customers to submit doodle artwork featured on limited edition cups, transforming packaging into a participatory brand experience. The system blends heritage, creativity, and community into a cohesive lifestyle narrative.
